MoVA’s Standing and Special Committees       

MoVA depends upon the active participation of its membership.  The various MoVA committees are in need of assistance and need the active participation of members.  If you would like to become involved in one of these committees or would like more information on the goals of the committee, please contact the chairperson.  The committees and the chairpersons are:

MoVA Special Projects Committee

• The Special Projects Committee shall consist of the chair and a minimum of four others.  The members of this committee should reflect, as much as possible, the various disciplines of victims and victim services among the membership.
   

• The committee is responsible for awards and recognition at the annual conference.
   

• The committee is specifically charged with the selection of the recipients of the Judith McDonald-Compere Award, the Leona Rivers-Jewel Award, the Carol Vittert Award, and the James P. Damos Award, as well as Board and Officer recognition.
   

• The committee will develop written criteria for the selection process for each award and a standard nomination form for each award.
   

• The committee shall also study and advise on other projects that come before the Board.
